Southeast Asia Ocean Impact Film Grant
We recognise the profound power of storytelling in raising awareness and inspiring action for the ocean, which is why we’ve created a dedicated fund to support Southeast Asian ocean impact stories. If you are a filmmaker committed to crafting narratives that resonate with audiences, provoke thoughtful discussions and inspire action, we want to hear from you.
Why this grant came about:
Southeast Asia has a rich tapestry of marine life and cultural heritage, yet many of these narratives remain untold. The genesis of this grant lies in our commitment to bridging the gap between powerful stories from the region and global audiences. Our grant seeks to encourage filmmakers in the region to explore the beauty, challenges and unique connections between people and the ocean. Together, we can foster a deeper understanding of the region's unique marine ecosystems and the impact of human activities on them. We recognise the urgent need to amplify voices from local communities, scientists and environmentalists who are tirelessly working to conserve Southeast Asia’s marine biodiversity. We want your films to spark curiosity, inspire action, and create a sense of wonder about the ocean and its importance to our lives.
Who we’re looking for:
We are casting a wide net! This grant is open to emerging and established filmmakers from the region who are passionate about environmental conservation and eager to explore the region’s diverse cultures, ecosystems, and the interconnection between humanity and the ocean. We value creativity, compassion, originality, and a deep commitment to creating positive change through the art of filmmaking.
